Born in Leipzig, mezzo-soprano Alexandra Röseler studied music pedagogy at the University of Magdeburg and performed at many concerts as a pianist.
After completing her singing studies at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig she actively took part in master classes.
A brisk sequence of concert activities with renowned pianists and conductors in Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, Japan and the People's Republic of China followed.
Acting as an ambassador of German music tradition she gives performances in the significant concert halls of the world, such as the Gewandhaus, the Metropolitan Hall and the Daming Palace. She acquired international recognition through her empathic interpretation of songs and her concert series "Auf Flügeln des Gesanges" (On the wings of chant) which is dedicated to the works of great composers of the past and present.
Alexandra Röseler is employed in a routine cooperation with several colleges of music and universities, the orchestra of the Gewandhaus and the St. Thomas Boys Choir Leipzig
where she also works as a vocal teacher.
She was awarded the Schiller Prize and also earned the Diploma "German Lied for Singers and Pianists" several times from the International Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg.
Additionally, she was honoured as a scholarship recipient from the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation. Her achievements in the fields of music and pedagogy were highly valued in 2012 by being appointed Professor h.c..
Radio and television appearances as well as CD recordings are a testament to her diverse repertoire.
